COMMUNITY

Edamame Kids wants to do our part to help reduce waste sent to the landfill and promote a more sustainable way of living.

We have partnered with several organizations to collect, reuse, and recycle used consumer products. We also reuse packaging material that is sent to us from our suppliers whenever we ship online orders.

We support local community initiatives and enjoy being involved whether by volunteering our time, helping to raise awareness of certain causes, or becoming a sponsor of programs that enhance the environment and other initiatives that are meaningful to us.

MARDA LOOP BRZ RECYCLING

Our location serves as a community recycling collection point for used toners, ink cartridges, and batteries. Please drop off your used items in the green bin (located in our entrance way) and the Marda Loop BRZ arranges for a volunteer to pick up the recycling collection box once a month.

MADE BY MOMMA

Made by Momma is a Calgary-area volunteer group providing wholesome nourishment and nurturing care to mothers and young children. Click here to view their current needs list. The proceeds of our recycled shopper bags that we sell at the store benefit Made by Momma.

KIDSEAT RECYCLERS

In December 2010, we partnered with Kidseat Recyclers and accept used and expired infant car seats and booster seats. We collect a $10 recycling levy per car seat on behalf of Kidseat Recyclers.

We collected 321 car seats since December 2010.

In 2011, the Adopt-a-Paw holiday program was in support of ARF Alberta.

COACH HILL PATTERSON HEIGHTS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

In 2011, we became a Participating Sponsor of the re-development of their neighbourhood playground.

TELUS SPARK - CALGARY SCIENCE CENTRE

As a user of this facility, we decided to contribute a donation in 2011 towards the purchase of a public bicycle rack that other users can enjoy too.

NATIONAL COSTUME SWAP DAY™

We are a major sponsor of Calgary's annual Halloween costume swap. This registered Green Halloween® event is organized to encourage people to swap and reuse "outgrown" costumes and by helping to reduce waste sent to the landfill.

DIAPER FREE BABY

We work with DiaperFreeBaby's local Mentor and host monthly Elimination Communication meetings as a local support for ECing parents.
